项目摘要

本研究の目論見は「プロレタリア雄弁」という知られざる言語芸術の分析を通じ、レトリック理論・レトリック史研究に新たなる争点を提示することである。具体的な目的は2点である。1つ目は、近藤栄蔵が『プロレタリア雄弁学』(1930年)で描いた「プロレタリア芸術」と「ブルジョア芸術」の相違を軸に、「持たざる者」が自ら弁士となるべしとする近代日本の「プロレタリア雄弁」のレトリックとしての特徴について考察することである。2つ目は、近代日本のレトリック研究の中、これまで光を当てられずにいた大正・昭和期の、特に大正デモクラシー以降の階級闘争の武器たる「プロレタリア雄弁」の研究を通じ、近代・現代日本における多様なレトリック実践の理論的・歴史的検討を行うことである。令和4年度の研究実績として、まず国内での資料収集を継続して行なった。具体的には前年度行うことができなかった、同志社大学人文科学研究所アーカイブ(近藤栄蔵文庫)(京都府京都市)への出張調査を実施し、『プロレタリア雄弁学』発刊前後、共産党と袂を分かった「合法」無産政党活動への近藤の関与についての貴重な一次資料を収集することができた。これらの資料は、前年度に購入したパーソナルコンピューター(iMac)を用い整理・データベース化した。加えて令和4年度は、オンライン開催された日本コミュニケーション学会年次大会およびRhetoric Society of America年次大会、また対面開催されたInternational Society for the History of Rhetoric研究大会（オランダ・ナイメーヘン）および米国National Communication Association年次大会（米国・ニューオーリンズ）にて近藤の「プロレタリア雄弁」に関する研究報告・論文発表を行い、内外の研究者と有意義な意見交換を行うことができた。
