2022年度の前半はコロナ禍で渡航ができなかったため、予定通り事業が進められなかったが、以下のような調査活動ができた。① 2022年10月22日-11月3日　第7回世界ウチナーンチュ大会に参加（現地参加は28日から）各種セミナーや交流会などに参加し、ボリビアから来沖していた多くのキーパーソンと再会、ボリビアでの調査協力依頼と今後の面会スケジュールなどの確認ができ、新しい関係者たちとの出会いの場となった。ワークショップに参加し、多言語・多文化な環境で育つ子どもたちの言語形成やアイデンティティについての考察の場となった。同行の日系人のルーツ調査、移住資料展の見学、貴重な文献・記録動画などの閲覧ができた。この事業の可能性と研究の意義も確認できた。② 2023年2月20日-3月19日　　ペルーおよびボリビアに調査ペルーの日系教育機関や日系人会を3年半ぶりに訪問し、ボリビアとのつながりや違いを理解した。また、ボリビアの協力機関であるボリビア日系協会連合会、ボリビア沖縄県人会、コロニア・オキナワの日系学校も訪問、教員や卒業生の話も聞くことができ、継承文化・継承語に関するアンケートの作成およびアンケート実施への協力依頼ができ、アンケート調査の実施準備ができた。3年半の空白期間となったコロナ禍の状況を超えて、改めて具体的な打ち合わせをすることができ、今後のオンラインの活用も含めて、関係機関に十分な話ができたので、ようやく事業再開の見込みがついた。直接会って話を聞くというプロセスで、この科研事業の目的を共有することができたので、調査のための基本状況の確認もでき、信頼関係もより強くなった。今後に向けて、新たな体制を構築して事業期間の延長ができる見込みがついた。
