本年度は、研究成果2編を公表した。①.笠井津加佐・笠井純一「「西川舞踊会」番組（大正六年、大阪南地演舞場）」（金沢大学人間社会環境研究科『人間社会環境研究』第45号、2023年3月）、②.笠井純一・笠井津加佐「戦前期大阪北新地における芸妓の開業・廃業記録」（同）で、いずれも史料紹介である。①は1917年2月、名古屋西川流の師範：西川嘉義（1864～1921）が開催した舞踊会の番組で、これまで知られなかった史料である。報告者らは、この史料を本科研費で購入して調査を重ねた上、全文を翻刻してその意義を論じた。この会には、嘉義自身が坪内逍遥の「一休禅師」を初演し、彼女が教えた堀江と南地の芸妓（武原はん他）だけでなく、花街と無関係の弟子も出演した。また市民の注目を集め、四日間の切符が事前に売り切れるなど、舞踊を接点とする花街と市民との繋がりを伺い得る内容であった。本科研の一課題「芸能を媒介とする花街と市民との関わり」を追究する上で、貴重な成果といえよう。なお明治・大正期の花街舞踊の水準は高く、嘉義の外にも片山愛子（三世井上八千代）が「鉢かつぎ姫」を、西川石松が「俄仙人」（何れも逍遥の作品）を振付け、芸妓に教えた事実等にも言及した。②は佐藤家所蔵史料で、現所蔵者の祖父：佐藤駒次郎（1881～1950）が、自身の経営する「永楽席」の芸妓（延べ469人）の開業・廃業等を記録した台帳である。但し、個人を特定できる情報が多数含まれるので、各芸妓には開業年度別に通し番号を付し、源氏名はその数字に改め、本名等はこれを省いた。本史料は、近代における芸妓の勤務状況を知るために貴重であるだけでなく、芸妓扱店相互の関わりや、扱店を越えた芸妓の繋がりを知る上でも稀有の文献であり、今後の花街研究に有益と思われる。なお①・②は、金沢大学学術情報リポジトリKURAで公開している。
