项目摘要

2022年度の研究として、前年度に引き続き、「待賢門院発給文書一覧」と「待賢門院領一覧」の作成と、これらの一覧をふまえて「待賢門院史料集」の作成に着手した。また待賢門院院司と待賢門院領形成に関わった人々の抽出に取りかかった。地域社会における現地調査の実施については、本年度予定していた遠江国質侶荘と、前年度の追加調査として越前国河和田荘の調査を実施できた。ただし越前国河和田荘の現地調査の初日に集中豪雨で電車が止まり、予定していた４人のメンバー中２人は結果的に福井に来られず、１人も１日半到着が遅れた。研究代表者はすでに現地入りしており、２人で日程を大幅に縮小しての調査となってしまった。また本年度も新型コロナウィルス感染症の影響を受け、人数を集めての現地調査の実施が難しかった。遠江国質侶荘の現地調査は実施できたものの、最少人数での実施で予備調査的なものに留まっている。ただし当地では1000分の１の地図や書籍類を購入することができた。これは今後の調査にとって有益なものである。一方、周防国玉祖荘の現地調査は計画したものの、新型コロナウィルス感染症のため中止せざるをえなかった。その他、女院領のケーススタディとして下野国足利荘の踏査を実施した。それでも、本年度の現地調査による大きな成果は、遠江国質侶荘の近隣荘園として王家領である宝荘厳院領初倉荘の存在がわかったことである。前年度の調査においても上野国淵名荘は隣荘である新田荘との関わりが深いことを見出したが、質侶荘においても同様のことが言える見通しがついた。今後はその他の待賢門院領で、どれほど同じようなケースがあるのかを検討する必要があるが、大事な知見だと考えている。そして、この知見は、1つの荘園だけを見ていても、逆にある女院領だけを全国的に抽出しても見出せないものであり、本研究ならではの成果といえよう。
