本研究は、様々なコーポレート・ガバナンス変遷のパターンのメカニズムの解明を行う事を目的としている。とりわけ、世界的な規範となっている株主利益重視志向からステークホルダー志向への移行に着目し、そのメカニズムの解明を目的としているのが、本研究の特徴である。初年度においては、多様なパスのうちのいくつかの興味深い動きを見つけ出し、そのメカニズムを解明するためのロジック構築と分析を行った。その中で、見つけ出したのが、株主志向を廃棄して、ステークホルダー志向へ移行する動きとステークホルダー志向から株主志向を経て、ステークホルダー志向へと回帰する動きである。前者を説明するためにBacklash theoryを活用し、後者を説明するために、behavioural theoryを利用し、仮説の構築と変数の作成を行い、分析を行った。2年目の2022年度においては、その２つの動きに関する論文の作成を行った。その中で、前者のBacklash theoryを用いたものに関しては、査読付き海外ジャーナルのR&Rを採るという成果を挙げることができた。また、後者に関しては、査読付き国内誌での出版と査読付き海外学会発表という成果に帰結した。3年目に相当する2023年度は、Backlash theoryを用いた研究を修正したうえでの再投稿を計画している。また、Behavioural theoryを用いた研究論文は、本年度の海外学会発表がすでに予定されているおり、その前の早い段階での査読付き海外ジャーナルへの投稿を行いたいと考えている。そして、そうした計画実現に向けて、共著者である本プロジェクトの分担者と打ち合わせを重ねているところである。
