2022年度は、学会発表を2回、国内研究集会を1回実施している。以下、成果発表の内容を報告する。本研究では、パワーを関係性で生じる現象と捉えた上で（Solomon 1976, Foucault 1975）、精神的困難を抱え社会サービスを利用する当事者の知を専門援助職者がその関係性において承認することがエンパワメントなりうることを考察した。精神的困難を抱えて社会サービスを利用する当事者は、その困難ゆえに社会的抑圧に晒されることが多い。社会的抑圧にはその人のパワーを封鎖する何らかの強い作用があり、社会環境が非友好的に機能している。サービス利用当事者は、医学的な処遇を受けている期間が長いほど、抑圧のなかで従来のアイデンティティを薄れさせていく傾向が強く、治療を受ける患者アイデンティティを強めていく。その中でも当事者は、自分たちの生きられた経験にもとづく当事者の知を育んできた。この当事者の知に対し、専門援助職者の側が、自らの専門性に基づく科学的言説に依拠して当事者の知が科学的ではないことを理由に承認しないのであれば、当事者の語りや生きづらさそのものは科学的言説に囲い込まれ、行き場を失うことになる。一方、当事者への理解や互いの学びを目的としたグループ（必ずしも当事者だけで編成されていなくてもよい）の場合、当事者の語りは科学的言説に縛られることなく、その縛りからの解放をも支えており、当事者が自分の生きる意味を見出そうとする生の過程へのコミットメントに貢献していることが示された。普段、グループ以外の場所では語らずに不確かになっている自己（の部分）が、グループできき届けてくれるメンバーの存在によって、語りは自己の確かな輪郭へと繋がり、浮き上がっている。当事者の知と専門援助職者の専門知の共存が求められており、そこにエンパワメントグループの活用可能性が示唆される。
