本研究の目的は、リンダ・グラットン（2016）が提唱しているマルチステージ型人生への移行について、その理論的背景を明らかにしながら、人生100年時代に向けた日本型インターンシップのあるべき姿を提示することを目的とする。そのあるべき姿の実行具体策は、「人生100年時代に対応したパフォーマンス評価手法としてのルーブリック表の作成」および「人生100年時代のキャリア自律に向けたインターンシップモデルプログラム開発」である。令和3年度（2021年度）に実施した研究実績の概要は次のとおりである。1. 大学、短期大学、高等専門学校（以下、大学等という。）における教育的効果の高いインターンシップ（以下、IS）について、文部科学省が平成30年度に実施した「大学等におけるISの届出制度」に申請された届出内容（日本学生支援機構に届出済の研究実施時点で最新年度のもの：参考2018 年度、申請学校数170 大学、届出科目数370 科目）をテキストマイニングという手法を用いて探索的に分析を行い、その特徴について検討し、大学等における教育的効果の高いISの全体像を把握した。２．文部科学省が委託調査をした「就職・採用活動に関連して実施されているISの現状に関する調査研究」の学生調査データ再解析（有効回答数：全国学部4年生、修士2年生1,196 人分であったが、偏りのあるデータを除外し、学部4年生 637 人、修士 2 年生202 人、839 票を有効回答とした。）を行った。具体的には、①ISに参加、不参加における属性（性別、設置者、分野、所在地）、職業観や就職行動の違いを明らかにした。次に、②短期のISとしてワンデーIS、長期ISとして 30 日以上のISへの参加、不参加における属性、職業観や就職行動の違いを明らかにした。3. 人生100 年時代に必要な知識、能力、スキル等の文献調査を行った。
