本研究は、定量的及び定性的分析方法を用いて、農業分野における日露国際共同研究の実態把握を目的とする。初年度であるR3年度は、日露学術交流を定量的分析や結果の可視化することに重点を置いた。定量的分析をクラリベイト・アナリティクス社Web of Science (WoS)データを基に集計し、両国の論文数、二国間共著論文の数や主な分野（キーワードや研究テーマ別の傾向を含む）を論文生産という観点から評価した。さらに、国際共著ネットワークにおける日本とロシアの位置づけ、研究費・資金負担分布を評価した。2020年までの二国間共同研究活動分析では、共著論文の増加はわずかであり、年間成長率は0.64%に過ぎないことを示した。キーワードやテーマを分析した結果、日露共著分野のトップ4は、物理学、物質科学、工学や生命科学だったことを確認した。一方、農学分野での日露共著論文数はわずか177編であり、農学分野での共同研究の低迷を検証した。学術協力ネットワークでは、東京大学、京都大学、東北大学など日本の代表的な研究教育機関が日露間の協力の中心となっていることが示された。ロシアの主要な結節機関は、モスクワ国立大学である。共同研究における主な研究資金源は、文部科学省、日本学術振興会、ロシア基礎科学財団だった。本研究は、国際交流が遅れがちな農学分野での日露研究展開を推進する目的で新潟大学農学部が主導するプロジェクトの一部である。2022年1月20日にネットワーク強化や共同研究効率向上を目的とした日露国際シンポジウム【Russia-Japan Joint Mini-symposium on Plant Protection 2022】を開催した。両国からの研究者、大学院生、学部生70名が参加し、農学分野における共同研究特有課題や成功例について議論ができた。得られた研究成果をオンライン国際会議「The 8th Asian Conference on Education & International Development (ACEID2022)」にて報告した。

This study applies quantitative and qualitative analysis methods to assess the status of agricultural research.
