本研究の目的はユーモアの多面性を盛り込んだポジティブ心理学的介入の開発と効果検討を行うことである。ユーモアを多側面から捉える試みのうち最も代表的なものとして，Martin et al. （2003）の4つのユーモアスタイルがある。その中で特に心身の健康に有益なものと想定されているのが，ジョークを言って周囲を笑わせるなど肯定的な対人関係を促進する「親和的ユーモア（Affiliative humor）」と，ストレスのかかる状況でも面白い面に目を向ける「自己高揚的ユーモア（Self-enhancing humor）」である。この2種類のポジティブなユーモアを使用する行動を増加させることでwell-beingの向上に効果をもたらすかを検討する。方法としては，成人を対象として，介入群と統制群とを無作為に割り付け，介入群にはユーモアに関する心理教育および課題を，統制群には課題を実施する予定である。課題実施前，課題実施後，課題終了から1ヶ月後，課題終了から3か月後の4時点で，アセスメントとして，ユーモアの使用を測定するユーモアスタイルと主要な効果指標である主観的幸福感，抑うつ症状などwell-beingに関する指標を測定する。インフォームド・コンセント，各アセスメント，および各群の課題はすべてインターネットを通して行う。研究代表者の育児休暇等により，本研究は令和4年度9月より開始した。令和4年度は所属機関において本研究の倫理審査の申請を行い，承認を受けたところである。また介入プログラムの実施に先立ち，研究参加者募集方法の検討（利用できる民間調査会社の選定など），心理教育教材の作成などを行った。
