Critical Edition of the Pegau Annals (Annales Pegavienses)

The project aims at a critical (re-)edition of the Pegau Annals (Annales Pegavienses), based on the four medieval and early modern (16th century) manuscripts. The edition will contain a detailed comment on persons, localities and facts, additionally the customary apparatus on the text itself and a German translation of the Annals. The work will be modeled after recent editions of medieval historiographical sources by the Monumenta Germaniae Historica, including the edition of the Quedlinburg Annals (Giese 2004).
