项目摘要

本研究は、農家が最終的に得る所得は、天候や市場環境などの外的要因だけではなく、作付、収穫、販売までの間、自らが下す意思決定という内的要因にも左右されることに着目する。具体的に、本研究は、農家にとっての最初の意思決定である作付作物の選択と、次の意思決定である農法選択という最初の2つの重要な意思決定に焦点を当て、以下の3つを明らかにすることを目的としている。①農家の人口統計学的・経済的特性が、2つの意思決定に与える影響を明らかにすること、②最初の意思決定が次の意思決定に与える影響を明らかにすること、 ③農家に所得増加(変動減少)をもたらす最適な作物選択と農法選択の戦略を示すことである。この研究目的を達成するために、研究分担者が長年調査を行うインドでデータを収集し、構造方程式モデリング(GSEM)という方法を用いて分析を行うことにより、2つの意思決定の背後にある決定要因と、2つの意思決定の関係、2つの意思決定が最終的に得る所得に与える直接的・間接的影響を推計する。本年度は、前年度より始めた農家の2段階の意思決定を分析するための理論モデルの精緻化と、インドのアウランガ―バード郊外の農家からデータを収集するための質問票の加筆・修正をする作業を行った。質問票作成作業では、農家から作付作物、作付面積、農法選択、収穫量、所得などの項目に関して正確な情報を得るために必要な質問項目の選定、及び、農家の意思決定が意味することを分析するために農作物ごとの収量変動と価格変動リスクの暫定値を設定することを行った。今年度は、作成した質問票を用いてデータを収集する予定する予定であったが、新型コロナウィルス感染状況が収束しなかったことから研究協力者の安全を考慮し、現地でのデータ収集することを諦めざるを得なかった。しかし、データ収集以外の計画については計画通り実施することが出来た。
