神経性過食症(BN)、過食性障害(BED)に対する治療法として、欧米のガイドラインではオンラインのガイドセルフヘルプが最も推奨されているが、本邦においては開発されていない。本研究はランダム化比較試験を用いて欧州で開発されたBN、BEDに対するオンライン版認知行動療法(iGSH-CBT)＋TAU(通常の治療)群の、TAU群に対する有効性の検証に関する研究であるが、BN、BEDに対して薬物療法と同等以上の効果が示されている認知行動療法をオンラインで治療を行う点でより普遍的であり、また、本疾患の高い治療脱落率に関しても大きく低減できる可能性がある点が特記すべき点である。2023年4月時点で、計23名（国際医療福祉大学成田病院18名、袖ケ浦さつき台病院5名）がエントリーされておる。報告時点までで、有害事象報告はなく、プログラムの安全な実施が確認できている。2023年4月17日に、症例登録期間を、2025年6月30日まで延長し、千葉大学医学部附属病院臨床研究倫理審査委員会において、承認された。目標症例数は82名としており、さらなる参加者の登録が必要な状況であり、リクルート強化を継続している。
