本研究では、大規模思春期コホートのデータを用いて思春期の社会情緒発達とその予測要因および成人期の予後との関連を明らかにすることを目的としている。今年度は、20歳児調査を実施し新規データの取得を行いながら、既存データを用いた以下の研究を行った。1つ目の研究では、東京ティーンコホートの16歳調査はコロナ禍をまたいで実施されており、この調査特性を活かして、コロナ禍前に調査をした児とコロナ禍で調査を実施した児で抑うつ症状の以前の調査からの変化に相違があるかを検討した。その結果、コロナ禍群はコロナ禍前群よりも0.8ポイント抑うつ症状が高く、この影響は特に男子において大きかった。一方女子では平均の抑うつ症状は男子よりも高いものの、変化は年齢に伴う変化の範囲内であった。この結果からは、年齢や性別による変化を考慮してもコロナ禍で思春期世代の抑うつ症状が上昇し、特に男子において影響が大きかったことが示された（論文投稿中）。次に、初年度に行った国内の思春期集団における孤独感と関連要因の検討結果を踏まえて、今年度は国際機関が収集している公開データを用いて主に中低所得国の思春期世代における孤独感の頻度と関連要因の国際比較を行った。その結果、世界70か国の思春期世代の孤独感は平均11%であり、性別や仲間関係との関連は国によって異なるものの、いじめられ体験はほとんどすべての国において孤独感と関連を示した。この結果からは、いじめ対策はどの国においても思春期世代の孤独感対策の重要な要素になりうることが示された（J Adolescent Health,2023掲載)。いずれの研究も、今後の本邦および世界における思春期世代のメンタルヘルス対策を考える上で貴重なエビデンスである。
