今年度は、2021年度に「全国の看護系大学において2020年度に遠隔で実施された周術期看護実習の実態、目標達成度、課題を明らかにする」ことを目的として実施したアンケート調査の分析を行い、臨地外実習でも実習目標達成が可能となる要因を探求した。273校の周術期看護実習科目責任者に質問紙を郵送し、65部（24％）の有効回答を得た。その結果、COVID-19 影響下で実施した周術期実習の内容や方法、目標達成度について実態が明らかになった。「急性期の臨場感・リアリティが再現できない」という課題が多く挙げられたが、実習目標達成度が「臨地実習より上回った」という回答者もおり、回答者らは周術期の経過の早さを重視し臨地実習に近い内容で実習する工夫をしていたことが明らかとなった。臨地外実習で目標達成を目指すには、学生が自ら考えて動き、患者の反応から学ぶ仕掛けが必要であり能動的な実習となる複数の要素があげられた。研究成果は、学会で２題発表し、論文を２本投稿中である。これらの成果をもとに、実際の患者データを得てよりリアリティのある臨地外実習プログラムの作成を行った。
