本研究は、高齢者の転倒の原因の1つである外反母趾や浮き趾に看護介入するためのエビデンスに基づく指針を検討し、その効果を明らかにすることを目的としている。2022年度は、以下の2点を主に実施した。1.看護師へのインタビュー調査：2021年度に検討した外来看護師へのインタビュー内容をもとに、足の外科を専門とする医師を有する病院の外来看護師および同病院の整形外科病棟に勤務する看護師、合計4名にインタビューを行った。この病院では外反母趾のような足の形を治療するために入院する患者が多い。そのため、インタビューした看護師たちは足に対する関心は高く、足の形態や立ち座りの様子や歩き方は日常的に観察していた。しかし、足の形による立位姿勢のバランスや歩き方の安定性への影響についてはあまり意識していなかった。この結果から、一般病棟の看護師では、訴えがない限り、足の形態を観察することはほとんどない可能性があると考えられる。また、自身の足の形に納得できないことが精神的ストレスになり、何度も手術を希望する患者もいることがわかった。今後、身体面だけではなく精神面への影響についても質問項目とした調査用紙を作成して調査を実施する。2.視覚的説明による外反母趾・浮き趾の転倒理解の効果の検証の装置の改良：錘の角度をデジタル化した試作品を使って、角度と重さの関係を示す測定の予備実験を実施した。安定性を増すように足型を重くし、改良した。
