内分泌療法を受けている乳がん患者は、社会生活を送りながら外来通院で治療を受け、在宅で自己管理を行い生活している。乳がんの内分泌療法で用いられるフルベストラント（商品名：フェソロデックス）は油性注射剤で、両側殿部の筋肉内に連続的に投与されており、注射部位に硬結が発生しやすい状況がある。本研究の目的は、外来通院でフルベストラントの筋肉内注射を受けている乳がん患者を対象とし、筋肉内注射による硬結予防に、注射後の中殿筋運動が有効であるか検証することである。また、注射前後に限らず、患者のADLや在宅での中殿筋運動を伴う日中の活動量を調査し、患者の日常生活における中殿筋運動の有無・程度によって硬結の発生状況に与える影響を明らかにする。令和4年度（2022年度）は、フルベストラントの筋肉内注射を外来で実施している看護師から情報収集を行った。その結果、患者の注射部位の硬結発生事例が実際に見られること、患者によっては注射後に疲労感・倦怠感が強く休養を必要とする状況があること、腹臥位で両側殿部に注射した後に立位になって中殿筋運動（股関節の外転運動）を行うことは患者の安静を考慮すると困難な状況があること、患者の病状によって注射後の状況は変わること等を聴取した。以上の聴取内容をふまえ、文献検討を行い、フルベストラントの筋肉内注射を受ける患者に適した中殿筋運動の介入方法を検討した。患者の在宅における活動状況調査（実態調査）についても、準実験研究の対象患者で同時に進める計画を立案した。
