本研究は、サーモグラフィーによる手の表面温度の測定と血流計を用いた末梢血流動態の測定により、寒冷ストレス負荷後の回復過程を指標に、冷え症者の身体面および精神面の特性を研究し、判別分析を用いて冷え症者と非冷え症者との識別指標を確立した。その識別指標を援用し、学童期から思春期の女性の冷え症状とめまいや立ちくらみ、朝起きにくくやる気が減退するなどの症状を呈する起立性調節障害との関連性および身体的・心理的特性を明らかにすることで、症状の自覚のない女性の身体的特性や生活環境との比較を行い、症状の緩和策や予防法に関わる手がかりを得ることを目的としている。第１段階として、思春期の女性の多次元的な生理学的指標の検証（冷え症状に関連した質問紙調査、自律神経状態の測定、末梢循環動態、サーモグラフィを用いた皮膚表面温度の測定、非接触型レーザー血流計による末梢皮膚循環動態、冷水負荷試験後の手指皮膚表面温度の回復率の測定）を実施し、冷え症状と起立性調節障害に特徴的な症状および身体的特徴に類似性があるか、さらに冷え症状を持たない女性との比較により、身体的・心理的特徴に差異があるかなど関連性を明らかにする予定であった。しかし、COVID19の感染拡大の影響を受け、空調機器による室温調整が必要（窓の開放や一定の距離を保持することが困難）である本実験はを中止せざるを得ない状況となった。よって、令和4年度の調査は全く実施ができていない。調査の開始に向け、実験室の各機器（サーモグラフィ―、非接触型レーザー血流計、自律神経系測定器）等のメンテナンスおよび環境整備を行った。令和5年5月よりCOVID19の感染症法上の位置づけが第5類へ移行することに伴い、学校等での規制も緩和されることが予測されるため、実験開始が可能となれば、直ちに予備実験をはじめ、研究協力対象者との調整と連携をはかり,調査・実験を進める予定である。
