本研究では、まず、口腔ケアの拒絶を示す認知症高齢者に関する実態調査を予定していた。そのため、研究協力病院との打ち合わせを行った。しかし、COVID-19感染の影響により、「認知症高齢者のオーラルフレイルの実態調査」や「看護師を対象とした口腔ケア拒絶の実態調査」ができなかった。令和3年度に引き続き、令和4年度も文献の分析を行った。文献は、脱感作法を用いた口腔ケアの工夫に関するもの、認知症高齢者の口腔ケアに関するもの、口腔ケア教育に関するものであった。分析結果を、医科、看護、歯科の専門性を生かし検討した。脱感作法導入した口腔ケア獲得に向けた実践トレーニングの必要性を明らかにした。実践トレーニング方法の検討し、シミュレーターのトレーニングによって技術の修得方法まで検討できた。2018年度より認知症病棟勤務の精神科看護師23名に対して、遠隔による研修会やビデオによる脱感作法導入の口腔ケア教育を行い、定期的に相談を受ける等の支援を行った。課題はあるものの脱感作法導入によって、認知症高齢者の口腔ケア拒絶が改善傾向であった。脱感作法を導入した口腔ケアプログラムに向けた実践データとして得ることができた。
