大阪市教育委員会の協力を得て、大阪市立小・中学校の養護教諭に2020年度および2021年度の児童・生徒学校検診のデータ提出を依頼した。「子供の健康管理プログラム」ソフトにより成長異常と検出された高身長、低身長、肥満、痩せを、2018年度から2019年度の変化をコロナ流行前、2020年度をコロナ流行下・ロックダウン経験期、2021年度をコロナ流行下・ロックダウン後として学校毎の変化を対応のあるt検定で検討した。小学生は男女とも、ロックダウン経験期に低身長と痩せが一時的にやや低下したが、ロックダウンがあけた2021年度には上昇した。高度肥満と高身長はロックダウン経験期を含め、経年的に上昇を認めた。これはロックダウン中には運動不足と過剰栄養の状況を反映したと考えられる。しかし中学生男子は、高度肥満はロックダウン経験期には有意に低下しており、痩せや低身長もロックダウン経験期には横ばいであったのが、ロックダウンを過ぎた2021年度には高度肥満とともに再上昇を示した。中学生女子においても、各成長異常群はロックダウン経験期には低下ないしは維持していたのが、ロックダウンを過ぎた2021年度には軒並み上昇傾向を示した。小学生肥満児童の率はコロナ流行前に比べてコロナ流行後に増加し、男子で著明であった。中学生では、肥満生徒の率は、ロックダウン期には低下し、特に高度肥満女子の低下率が著明であった。痩せ生徒の率は中学生男女ともにロックダウン経験期に低下した。コロナ流行下・ロックダウンにより小学生の肥満児率は上昇し、高度肥満が増加したが、中学生の肥満生徒の率は低下した。コロナ禍の体重増加への影響は、低年齢の学童に大きく影響を与えた。新しい生活様式において、小児の体重管理は年齢毎に注意すべき重要な課題であることが明らかになった。
