超高齢化社会で地域包括ケアシステムの構築が推進されているが、在宅・介護施設における尿失禁とそれにともなう失禁関連皮膚炎は増加している。本研究の目的は、在宅・介護施設療養者の尿失禁と失禁関連皮膚炎の看護における科学的根拠に基づいた看護の実施とその評価を行い、訪問看護師・介護者の尿失禁看護クリティカルパスを作成し地域包括ケアシステムの推進に寄与することである。看護理工学の手法を用いた超音波エコー検査やブラッダースキャンを活用したアドバンスドな看護技術による残尿測定を導入する介入群とコントロール群を並行群間比較試験にてIAD発生率と改善率を指標に検討する。本年度は、COVID-19パンデミックに伴い引き続き介入施設（介護施設、入院施設、在宅ケアの被験者ご自宅）へのアクセスを自粛せざるを得ず、施設選定とデータ収集には至っていない。研究実施に向けて研究者が施設に立ち入らずにデータ収集ができるように、医療従事者と家族用に研究計画に沿った残尿測定、皮膚炎の評価の動画を作成し準備したが、臨床に従事している医療スタッフのCOVID-19対応と患者（対象者）の感染リスクを考慮して、高齢者施設でのデータ収集は断念した。日本では看護における無作為化比較試験（RCT）による科学的妥当性の検証がされている研究は少なく、特に在宅・介護施設療養者の尿失禁と失禁関連皮膚炎に関する現状は把握が困難であるため、海外の論文を中心にメタ分析を実施中である。
