本研究の一環として、「家族を介護する精神障害者の経験」について調査を行った。行氏恵保健師と訪問看護師が協働して支援する精神障害者の実態を明らかにする位置づけである。在宅精神障害者の約6割は家族と同居しており、その生活の場で、家族員あるいは地域住民としての役割を果たしながら療養生活を継続している。精神障害者が同居する家族には、介護を要する高齢の親や配偶者、養育を必要とする子どもが含まれる場合もあり、精神障害者自身が、介護を担う家族員として役割を果たすことは少なくないと考えられるが、精神障害当事者自身の介護経験に関する研究はわずかである。そのため、本調査では、家族を介護する在宅精神障害者の経験をありのままに記述し、質的に分析し明らかにすることを目的とする。本研究において「家族の介護」とは、在宅精神障害者が，日常生活や療養生活において支援を必要とする親や配偶者等に対し，同居する家族として生活の中で行う直接的，間接的手助けとし、「経験」は、家族への介護に関し、現実に起こった出来事に遭遇しているあるいは過去の体験を在宅精神障害者が振り返って語ったものとする。方法は、次の通りである。研究デザインは記述的質的研究とした。データ収集期間は2022年9月～11月であった。研究参加者は、精神疾患のため訪問看護ステーションを利用する在宅精神障害のうち本人の自由意思により研究参加への同意があった11名であった。データ収集方法は、調査時点から過去3年以内に家族を介護した経験に関するインタビューガイドを用いた半構成的面接とした。これらは、東京慈恵会医科大学倫理委員会にて承認（承認年月日：2022年8月1日、承認番号：34-061）を得て実施した。現在、面接データから逐語録を作成し、研究参加者の「経験」を抽出しコードとし、カテゴリ化したのちテーマを生成する分析を推進中である。
