本研究は、移民が多く住むベルリンのインナーシティをフィールドとして、現代都市の街区の社会的連帯を、ケアの視点から記述する民族誌研究である。現代世界における市民的共同性として想像されているものを明らかにすることを目的としている。当初予定していた現地調査は、新型コロナウィルス感染拡大の影響で、前年度にひきつづいて困難であった。そのため、計画を部分的に変更して、理論的な研究を当初計画よりも深化させる方向ですすめている。本年度は、オンラインで入手した新しいデータと、これまで行った現地調査で蓄積したデータをあわせて、グローバル化する世界における社会編成やケア論を洗い直し、再分析をすすめた。ケアの与え手と受け手の関係は、サービスのやりとりとしてだけでみるならば、平等ではありえないが、ケアのメカニズムは、この不平等な関係をヒエラルキーとして固定化させないことが特徴的である。経済的な不平等関係を、社会的な不平等関係として固定化させないメカニズムは、どのように作動し、あるいは、どのような状況で作動しないのか。このことを、さまざまなアクターのあいだに、どのようなからみあいが起こっているのかということから、明らかにしていこうとする。そこで、調査地街区の開発当初から所在する市場複合体の、21世紀にはいってからの再編成がどのように展開していったか、その過程を民族誌的に明らかにすることに焦点をあてる。再編計画をめぐる議論、運営と利用、その評価について、さまざまなアクターがどのように出会い、からまりあっているのか、分析をすすめた。
