本研究では、宗教体験の言説化について、宗教体験と伝統という二つの対立軸で論じる諸研究に対し、諸宗教への帰属意識という第三項も分析に含み入れる重要性を示す。そのために、近代日本の宗教思想家、綱島梁川と彼を慕う人々の宗教への帰属意識をカトリーヌ・コルニールの「複合宗教帰属」という概念で分析し、彼らの根ざしている宗教伝統や宗教への帰属意識の多様性こそが、超歴史的で普遍的な宗教体験や思想の「伝道」という営為を生み出し、宗教体験に根ざした社会実践を志向させていることを示す。本研究では、綱島を慕う者たちの回覧ノートである『回覧集』を主要なテキストとして分析するとともに、綱島を慕う人々の集会である「梁川会」の全容解明のため、各地の梁川会に関する資料を現地で調査する。これらの実証的な研究から神秘主義概念の再検討という宗教学の課題の解決を目指す。本年度は、新型コロナウイルスの感染が広がるなかで、予定していた現地調査の実施延期が生じた。そのため、『回覧集』の翻刻や分析の作業は遅れることとなった。とはいえ、本研究の成果を反映させた業績としては、編著1点、分担執筆1点、論文2点、学会発表1点を公表することができた。今年度は綱島梁川のテキストの読解だけでなく、綱島のテキストを捉えるための枠組みとなるミシェル・アンリ、ウィトゲンシュタイン、星川啓慈の思想の解析にも注力した。また、宗教学の教科書作成に本研究の成果を反映させることもできた。科研費の本来の研究は遅れがちではあったが、さまざまな成果に研究成果を活かすことができた一年であった。
