项目摘要

2022年度は、1970年代以降の「一人称映画」を主な対象として、文献精読と映像テクストの分析を進めた。今日に至るまでの「一人称映画」を取り上げることによって、俳優兼監督たちが自作自演することの現代的な意義について考察することができた。その過程において、早稲田大学坪内博士記念演劇博物館2022年度秋季企画展「村上春樹　映画の旅」を企画・構成した。村上春樹は日本の小説家であるが、アメリカ映画、とりわけ1960年代後半以降のアメリカン・ニューシネマから多大な影響を受けてきたことはよく知られている。展示では『一人称単数』（文藝春秋、2020年）という著書もあるこの小説家と映画の関係性について包括的に検証し、開催に合わせて刊行した図録＝早稲田大学坪内博士記念演劇博物館監修『村上春樹　映画の旅』（フィルムアート社、2022年）では編著者を務めた。2022年度の大きな収穫は、研究を進めるなかでインディペンデント映画の重要性をあらためて認識できたことである。本研究は、監督たちが自作自演する映画＝「一人称映画」を対象としているが、そこで問題となるのは、撮る／撮られること、及び両者の関係性である。このような撮る／撮られることは、大手映画会社のシステム下で生産されるハリウッド大作ではなく、小規模で作られ、ときに身近なもの同士で映画を撮り合うインディペンデント映画の実践においてこそ全面的に展開されてきた。本研究は監督による自作自演に注目してきたが、インディペンデント映画について考察することによって、より広く撮る／撮られることという実践が持つ意義を明らかにする可能性が見えてきた。
