当初の研究計画調書における2022年度の予定は、「歌ことば「あき（飽き／秋）」の成立と展開の様相、その転換点を明確化する」ということが中心であった。が、2021年度実施状況報告書に記したように、2021年度中に上代から中古にかけての「古る」「馴る」等の語彙について中国漢詩文との比較の作業から新たな着眼点を見出すことができたことを受け、2022年度は上代以来のこれらの語彙の展開や中国漢詩文との共通性及び差異についての考察を整理することを主たる課題の一つとして据え直した。2022年度はその計画どおり、その成果をまとめ、論文雑誌に投稿し、年度末に論文を刊行することができた。この過程で得ることができたのは、上代においてはいまだ熟しているとはいいがたかった時間推移と人間の魅力との相関関係をみつめる眼差しが、中国漢詩文の表現を踏まえた大伴家持の試みやその後の平安前期頃の文学作品の表現においては「馴る」という和語の特質に依拠しながら深化していき、時間推移の持つ多義性を掘り下げていくことのできる素地が生まれている、という文学表現史上の経緯の具体的な把握であった。2021年度実施状況報告書に「着眼点をさらに明瞭化した上で論文としてまとめ、今後の分析の土台としたい。」と言及していた点は実行することができたと思われる。2020年度の積み残し課題である歌合・私撰集における「古る」「馴る」「飽く」の用例調査はあまり進展していない。歌ことば「あき（飽き／秋）」の成り立ちについての考察とともに2023年度の課題としたい。
