３年目にあたる２０２２年度は、一昨年・昨年に引き続き、種々の文献資料（中央アジア在地の諸言語、漢語文献、イスラーム時代のアラビア語年代記など）に記されているフン系集団の動向に関わる情報を調査した。本年度は、これまでの研究の成果をいったん総括する成果として、一般向けではあるが、フンの時代に先行するクシャーン朝（後1世紀から3世紀）の動向と共に、南アジアへ進出したフン系集団の政治史的な動向、および、それらが在地社会に与えた影響を整理した、まとまった分量の記述を発表することができた。また、フンの時代の以降、中央アジアの社会にどのような変化が生じたのか、という点にも着目し、トハーリスターン（現在のアフガニスタン北部、ウズベキスタン南部、タジキスタン南部にあたる）の宗教事情について分析を行った。在地社会に関わる研究としては、新出のバクトリア語文書の近年の研究状況を整理する口頭発表も行った。さらに、2022年11月には、フランスへ海外出張を行い、フン系集団が展開したアフガニスタンの考古学調査に関する学会に参加し、これまでに行われてきた調査の総括、およびこれからの発掘調査の展望に関わる重要な情報を入手することができた。
