项目摘要

今井村の村文書の解読と分析を中心に研究を進んだ。撮影済みになった今井村の庄屋文書(五人組帳や御用　日記等の村政文書、村明細帳、皆済目録や御物成金納請取帳等の貢租・課役関係文書)の部分の解読と分析を中心に行った。近世期の今井村は、近隣村落の労働力人口「需要元」であり「供給元」であったこと、そしてそれと同時に、江戸武家屋敷や松代藩家中向けの武家奉公市場に対する労働力の「供給元」でもあったことがすでに判明した。今井村が近隣の村々から吸収する労働人口は、「下人」と呼ばれる家内奉公人的な労働力として提供されるものであり，今井村内部においては社会階層の下部に位置する存在であったと考えられる。しかし，今井村が江戸・松代藩家中向けに排出する労働人口の多くは，社会階層的には農村における「下人」層とは異なる武家奉公人であり，明らかに「格」の高い社会階層に属する雇用先であると考えられる。その上で、今井村が求めていた労働の中身と排出した労働の中身、期間、年齢に関してさらなる詳しい分析ができた。また，今井村の通婚圏の範囲は，今井村に労働人口を提供する労働力市場―下人供給市場―の範囲と，さらに今井村から排出する奉公人の労働力市場の範囲とがかなりの部分が重なっていた。三者の間には、婚姻による親類関係や姻戚関係が、労働力調達ネットワーク，もしくは長い歴史を経て得意先との緊密な関係を形成した労働力調達ネットワーク等に結びつき、相互に一定の親密な社会関係を構成しやすい構造になっていたのではなかろうか。現在育児の真っ最中で、研究を一時中断している。研究を再開してから、近々この研究成果もまとめたいと考えている。また、史料の未撮影した部分に関しては、研究再開してから、できるだけ早めに調査に行って撮影したいと考えている。
