“ワーク・エンゲイジメント”は，仕事に対してポジティブな状態を表す，仕事にいきいきと取り組んでいるかを評価する概念である．本研究は，介護老人福祉施設に勤務している外国人介護職員に焦点をあて，質問紙調査から①“ワーク・エンゲイジメント”の特性を把握し，“ワーク・エンゲイジメント”と②“職場環境認識”，③介護実践過程の中で形成される“介護肯定感”，④“勤務継続意向”との関連性の構造を探り，外国人介護職員がポジティブに仕事をするためにはどのような要因が必要かの示唆を得ることである．令和4年度は，関東地域の介護老人福祉施設を対象として，アンケート調査を行う予定であった．新型コロナウイルス感染症の流行に伴い，調査協力者として想定している介護老人福祉施設の負担を考慮し，アンケート調査を実施する予定であった計画を延期した.今年度は，留学生や外国人介護職員を受け入れている介護老人福祉施設で協力の了承を得られた職員に，外国人介護職員の受け入れや勤務状況などの現状を聞いた．EPAや技能実習生を受け入れている施設が増えてきているが，外国人介護職員の仕事場面における明るさなど評価されていた．現在，技能実習制度の施策見直しの検討が始まっており，外国人介護職員がもっと長く働けるように，在留資格やキャリアパスに関心を持っていた．外国人介護職員が多く在籍する施設では，多言語対応の記録用タブレットを使用したり，日本語の授業を行うなど，工夫や配慮がなされていた．作成したアンケート調査票を外国人介護職員を指導する職員に見てもらい，簡易にした方がいいのではないかという助言をいただき，簡易なものを作成した．
