今年度は世界的に海外渡航の制限が緩和されたことを受け、過去２年間実施できなかった海外調査を２回実施し、3年目にしてやっと大掛かりなデータ収集を行うことができた。研究実績は下記の3点である１点目は、9月と3月に実施した海外調査である。本研究はマレーシア、シンガポール、タイ、インドネシアの４地域でのデータ収集を予定しているが、今年度は過去に調査を実施してきたマレーシアとその隣国のシンガポールで調査を行なった。マレーシアではペナン島と南部のジョホール州の２地域でそれぞれ８件、１６件のインタビュー調査を実施した。また、シンガポールでは４件のインタビュー調査を実施した。昨年度オンライン調査を実施してみたものの、雪だるま方式で調査対象者を増やすことができなかったことから、本年度は現地に赴いて調査を行うことで、遅れていたデータ収集の進捗を大幅に改善することができた。２点目として、インタビューを実施する中で、コロナ禍の現地移住者の経験についてのデータを収集できた点である。この点は、新型コロナウイルス蔓延の前に書いた研究計画書には触れられていない点ではあるが、昨今の移民研究の中心的な一つの論点であるため、重要な知見を得られたと考えている。3点目として、シンガポール経営大学に9月に招待され、本研究の知見を「Migration, Education, and Cultural Capital in the Post-Pandemic World」のセミナーで発表する機会をいただいたことである。本セミナーはハイブリッド形式で行われ、ポストコロナ後の教育移住の現象について同大学の教員と意見交換を行なった。
