本研究の目的は、今後、増加する障害や疾病を抱えた労働者の健康管理に資するエビデンスを提供することにより、障害や疾病を抱えた労働者の働きやすい職場環境の醸成を目指すことである。そのため、本研究では、障害や疾病の有無、程度、種類が、労働者の心理的ストレス反応や循環器疾患リスクファクター、炎症性マーカーに影響するメカニズムを明らかにすることを目標としている。研究期間中、新型コロナウイルス感染症の影響を受け、研究協力先との調整が遅れていたが、今年度は、精神障害者を多く雇用する特例子会社から3年分のストレスチェックのデータと離職に関するデータ（約1100件）を入手する話し合いを進めることができ、それらを突合できる見込みが立った。そのため、1年間研究期間を延長させていただき、2023年度に倫理申請を行い、ようやく本格的な解析に進める見通しが立った。また、障害者や治療と仕事の両立支援が必要な労働者のメンタルヘルスに関する既存研究のレビューも進めた。さらに、健康診断結果とストレスチェックの結果の突合についても、これまでの打ち合わせによって、技術的には可能であることが確認できたため、当初の計画に従ってその実現に向けて準備を進めた。データの入手が進まなかったため、既存のデータベースを活用して、当事者のレジリエンスに着目したデータ解析を行い、病気や障害を理由に働き方に制約のある労働者と心理的ストレス反応の関係にレジリエンスが及ぼす影響に関する論文の執筆を進め、論文投稿を行った。
