現代、核家族化や女性の社会進出などに伴い、育児における父親の役割が急速に変化している。急速な変化に対応するため、育児・介護休業法の改正など父親への育児支援が進んでいる。父親の意識も変化してきており、家事や育児を積極的に行う父親が増えている一方で、子どもとの接し方に自信が持てずにいる父親もいる。また、母親の産後うつだけでなく父親の産後うつについても注目されるようになってきており父親への継続的な支援について検討が必要である。本研究の目的は父親のネットワークおよびエンパワーメントに重点を置き、ピアエデュケーションの手法を取り入れた父親同士の父親学級プログラムの開発することである。ピアエデュケーションは同世代の仲間が相談役となり、情報や価値観を分かち合う仲間教育である。2022年度は、父親学級プログラムの作成と試用を行う計画であった。プログラムの基盤として、父親の育児に関するニーズ調査の分析を行っており、より焦点化するためインタビュー内容の再分析を行った。父親が妊娠期や分娩期を過ごす中で、また育児を行う中で感じている困難感に焦点をあて、育児の準備段階である妊娠期から順に分析を行ってきた。結果として、父親は妊娠の経過や育児への知識不足などがある中でも、妻を気遣い、夫としての役割や父親としての役割を模索していることが明らかとなった。また、文献検討を行い、妊娠期の父親の役割行動や育児期における父親の体験、育児における夫婦関係の変化などの現代の父親における状況が明らかとなり、今後のプログラム作成のための資料として活用していく。
