There are several examples of s-block compounds being used in bond activation processes, especially in homogeneous catalysis. The applied complexes exhibit almost always nitrogen-based ligand systems. In contrast to this, we take an approach to use cyclopentadienyl compounds of s-block metals, in particular metallocenes of group 2 elements.In the course of this follow-up proposal, different magnesocenes and magnesocenophanes will be investigated with regards to their application in dehydrocoupling reactions, small molecules activation and coordination chemistry.
