2022年の実績として、主に感染症によるパンデミックの影響を受けた地域住民の異文化受容意識及び訪日客歓迎意識の変容を把握するため、2019年に実施したアンケート調査と同様、再度、京都府伊根町住民向けのアンケート調査を実施し、2回の調査結果を比較した。初期段階の分析結果として、地域住民の異文化受容意識と訪日客歓迎意識が共に弱まっている傾向が見られ、異文化受容意識が継続的に訪日客歓迎意識に影響を与えている一方、仮定した健康被害回避意識も規定要因の1つとして検討できた。地域住民の健康被害回避意識が訪日客歓迎意識に負の影響を与え、感染症による健康被害を回避しようとする意識が強ければ訪日客歓迎意識が弱くなる傾向が見られた。また、感染症の流行に伴い、健康被害回避意識が高まり、収束後も流行前の水準に戻らず、高い水準に留まっている。このような結果を踏まえ、今後はオーバーツーリズムに対処すると同時に、地域住民の意識を対象とする観光リスクマネジメントも重要であり、行政や観光関連事業者は地域住民とリスクコミュニケーションを取り、安心感を与えるための事前予防策を講じる必要があると考えられる。さらに、感染症による訪日客へのステレオタイプの形成を考慮し、差別化や偏見の解消のために、他国の医療衛生状況を学ぶなどの支援策が求められている。また、これまでの成果を考慮しながら、修正した研究計画に基づき、アンケート調査を実施するための調査地行政との調整やアンケート調査票の作成などを行った。
