引き続き、満洲語とシベ語について、その言語学的研究を行なうとともに、歴史学の視点からも、種々の言語接触、民族の接触についての研究を行なった。 言語学的研究については、シベ語文法(音韻論、形態論、統語論、意味論を含む)の研究を行ない、シベ語の方言間の差異や、現代ウイグル語やモンゴル語、また満洲語との 対照研究、比較研究を行なった。研究分担者の承志が中心となって、2020年度5月に開始した「週日錫伯語対談」は、引き続き、ほぼ毎週1回のペースで開催され、zoom で全世界のシベ族、およびシベ研究者を繋ぎ、シベ語でオンラインの対談を実施している。分担者の承志が、対談相手の選定と対談の司会を行ない、毎回さまざまなシベ人士に登場願って行なっている。2022年度は、4月の第73回に始まり、年度末の3月には、第107回となった。 内容は、シベの歴史・文化に広くおよび、シベ・満洲の歴史研究者や、シベ語出版物の出版に従事した人士など、専門性の高い仕事についての対談も織り込まれていた。コロナ渦のなかで、現地調査や国際会議開催がままならない中、シベのネットワーク拡大に大きく貢献するとともに、シベ語という消滅危機言語の記録としても、大変貴重なデータを蓄積していると言える。なお、代表者の久保は、引き続きオンラインで中国新疆ウイグル自治区のシベ語の音韻論・形態論の調査を行なった。また、1950年代から60年代に出版されたシベ語の書籍を調査し、比較的初期の、規範化が十分には進んでいないシベ語文語の特徴を明らかにしようと試みた。分担者の児倉は、引き続き補助動詞を対象に、文法変化と周辺言語との接触のありかたの解明に向けた調査研究を行なった。また、古典満洲語と現代シベ語との間の文法の比較・対照研究のための材料として、17世紀初頭の満洲語資料の訳注の改訂作業を行ない、出版した。
