嗅覚機能の低下や障害は視覚や聴覚におけるそれほどには注目されていないが、食の楽しみが低減して食欲を失うなど深刻な問題も派生しうる。まや、急速に情報化が進む社会において、人間同士や自然環境への接触といった有機的な社会的相互作用において生み出される社会的記憶における嗅覚の役割や重要性についても未解明である。バーチャルな世界でのにおい知覚の再現、遠隔コミュニケーション場面でのにおい知覚の共有の実現に向けて様々な取り組みが試みられているが、化学物質の再現という観点から制約は大きい。対面接触の減少や孤立状況の増加等によって、人間の成長過程において物理化学的な社会的相互作用が減少することで、嗅覚系の刺激は減少し、嗅覚系の活性頻度は低下すると考えられる。今後さらなる情報化深化の社会に生きる人間に対して、においが果たす役割は何か、つまり人間にとっての嗅覚の重要性について考える。令和４年度においては、においの識別能力（①体臭の識別能力②日常生活臭の識別能力）と社会的相互作用における個人差（③友人関係④情動的共感性⑤コミュニケーションスキル）との関連について調べた。先行研究からは、体臭識別能力が高いほど外向性や開放性、共感性、コミュニケーション能力が高いことが示されているが、本研究においても体臭識別能力が高くなるほど他者尊重や他者受容の得点も高くなる傾向が認められた。また、日常生活臭同定能力は外向性の高さと関連がみられたが、体臭識別能力と日常生活臭同定能力に関連は見られていない。

The decrease of olfactory function and the impairment of visual function are caused by the decrease of appetite and the increase of attention. The rapid development of information technology in society, human interaction, contact with the natural environment, organic social interaction, social memory, smell and service, and the importance of information technology have not been fully understood. The world is full of knowledge and reproduction, remote and remote scenes are full of knowledge and common realization, and the group is full of trials and experiments. The reproduction of chemical substances is full of restrictions. For example, the decrease of surface contact, the increase of isolation, the decrease of physicochemical and social interactions during human growth, the decrease of stimulation of olfactory system, and the decrease of activity frequency of olfactory system are considered. In the future, the deepening of information technology will lead to the development of society, and the importance of information technology in society will be examined. In the fourth year of the year, the ability to recognize body odor (1) the ability to recognize odor in daily life (2) and the social interaction between individuals (3) the relationship between friends (4) the emotional empathy (5) the relationship between the two. In the previous study, the body odor recognition ability was high, extroversion was high, openness was high, empathy was high, and body odor recognition ability was high. In this study, the body odor recognition ability was high, respect for others was high, and tolerance for others was high. The ability to recognize body odor and the ability to identify daily odor are highly correlated with extraversion.
