项目摘要

本年度前半は、初年度から着手している「人種」概念の形成と受容についての二次文献の整理、考察を続けたほか、「人種」概念についてさまざまな角度から研究を進めている国内外の研究者と意見交換を行った。とりわけ7月16日に京都キャンパスプラザで開催された日仏共同研究の成果物である『人種主義と反人種主義～越境と転換』（竹沢泰子・J.F. ショブ編、京都大学学術出版会、2022年）出版記念シンポジウムに参加（通訳）したほか、竹沢泰子氏主催の批判的人種・エスニシティ研究会に参加し、最新の人種研究の動向を把握する機会を得ることができた。一方、本研究は人種意識と並行して、「アフリカ」への帰属意識の形成についても考察を進めるものであるが、後者に関して、20世紀後半に思想的潮流を牽引した人物のひとりである歴史家のジョゼフ・キ=ゼルボの生誕100周年を記念するシンポジウムを企画し、7月30日に京都精華大学アフリカ・アジア現代文化研究センターにて実施した。シンポジウムでは、ジョゼフ・キ=ゼルボのアイデンティティに関する思想をめぐる本邦初公開となるドキュメンタリー映画「アフリカのアイデンティティー、アイデンティティーズ」（ダニ・クヤテ監督、2005年）の上映を行ったのち、同テーマについての座談会を行い、アフリカにルーツを持つひとびとの帰属意識の複数性とその政治的インパクトについて考察を深めた。さらに、8月～9月にはフランスおよびセネガルで史料収集のための滞在を行った。前年度までコロナ禍の影響で渡航がかなわなかったセネガルでは、本研究の中核をなすアフリカ独立党の結成地であるチェス市をおとずれ、複数の党員/元党員にインタビュー調査を行うことができた。年度の後半は、インタビューの内容や、同時に収集した公文書、二次文献の分析にあてた。
