项目摘要

In the ongoing project entitled “インド地下水汚染地域における妊娠、出産および小児の発育・発達に関する研究 “ with Nitte University, India, we found there is severe ground water contamination due to rapid and unplanned urbanisation, excess utilisation of groundwater, imbalance in land use and land coverage (LULC) ratio, ultimately leads to increase in urban heat island in all three districts of Udupi, Mangaluru and Kasaragod. This unplanned urbanisation growth had severe impact on imbalance in pregnancy pattern in every trimester (3.4%) and child birth specially from peri urban and village area. Hydro-chemical analysis of village open well, tube well water revelled the drastic increase in calcium (230 ppm), Magnesium (432 ppm), Fe (93 ppm) ions and Arsenic (110 ppm). Soil analysis revealed the higher load of pathogenic bacteria (E.coli, Salmonella sp., Legionella sp. And Campylobacter sp.) mainly due to soil anaerobic phenomenon. 1.2 % of sample (total sample size is 100) Compared to soil bacterial and fungal pathogens mainly Sporothrix sp.Total of 500 pregnant women samples health status is taken and data on basic health parameters on body weight, BMI, mother health and biochemical parameters are taken and reported. Cord blood is drawn and stored for further studies. Total of 130 chidden heath, development and hair samples were taken and preserved. Two day Indo-Japan seminar on the urban health and pregnancy was conducted in NITTE university on 9月9日‐9月10日. .
