平成３年度においては、第一に、当初研究分担者として参加予定であり、当科研においても中核的な役割を担う予定であった高橋良輔（青山学院大学）氏が同年３月に逝去したこともあり、高橋氏が積み重ねてきた諸研究、とりわけグローバリゼーションを国際政治哲学の観点から分析する研究と、『時政学への挑戦』（山崎望との共編著、ミネルヴァ書房、2021年）における時政学的研究について、当科研との継承関係と理論的発展の可能性を検討した。同氏の追悼研究会、国際文化学会などでその成果を公表した。第二に、国際関係論における時間論をめぐって、先行する諸研究を分析し、理論的課題を析出、海外の専門家とも知見を共有した。第三に、代表・分担研究者のこれまでの諸研究と展望について議論を重ねて、理論的な足固めを行った。平成４年度においては、第一に、隣接する関連領域であるブルーノ・ラトゥールを代表とするアクター・ネットワーク理論や人新世・惑星限界をめぐる議論について複数回にわたり研究会を行い、同理論に関する専門家と専門的知識を共有し分野横断的な議論の糸口を得た。第二に、同じく隣接する関連領域である、ドリーン・マッシーを代表とする文化地理学における空間・時間論について複数回にわたり研究会を行い、同理論に関する専門家と専門的知識を共有し、学際的に時間論・空間論を発展させる契機を獲得した。第三に、各研究者が諸学会・研究会において報告、成果を発表し、本科研の理論面、事例研究面において着実に前進した。また、人新世・惑星限界についてのローカルな取り組みに関して、網走においてフィールドワークを行い、これをグローバルな視点から理論的に検討する足がかりを得た。以上のように、各研究者相互における密接な議論、領域横断的な理論展開・研究動向の綿密な摂取と応用など、当初の目的に則した発展をみることができた。
