本研究の目的は、これまで独立して研究されてきた万引きの予防、万引きへの対応、万引きからの更生という一連のプロセスにおける地域との協働に焦点を当て、包括的な万引き防止教育プログラムの開発を行うことである。2022年度は、（1）万引きの予防に関する研究、（2）万引きへの対応に関する研究、（3）万引きからの更生に関する研究のそれぞれにおいて、研究を推進した。（1）万引きの予防に関する研究では、高齢者を対象としたアンケート調査の分析を行った。そして、分析結果を高齢者向け教育プログラムの基礎資料とし、高齢者向け教育プログラムの開発を行った。（2）万引きへの対応に関する研究では、近年注目されているセルフレジ万引き対策の教育プログラムを開発し、その効果検証を行った。行動観察データ、アンケートデータ、インタビューデータを分析した結果、店員のコミュニケーションや視線が変わり、客や店員の評価も高いことが示された。そして、セルフレジでの万引きが25％減少し、セルフレジでの万引きをこれまでの3倍現認できるようになることが明らかとなり、セルフレジ万引き防止マニュアルも作成した。また、アルバイト・パートを対象としたアンケート調査の分析を行った。分析結果をアルバイト・パート向けの教育プログラムの基礎資料とし、アルバイト・パート向けの教育プログラムを開発し、アルバイト・パート向けマニュアルを作成した。（3）万引きからの更生に関する研究では、再犯防止プログラムの開発を行った。全米万引き防止協会のプログラムと同様に、WEB上で視聴可能な青少年向けプログラムと成人向けプログラムのコンテンツを作成した。
