The purpose of this project is to develop an innovative approach to explore and synthesize high-quality all-inorganic tin-based halide perovskite quantum dots for solar cells. In 2021, the defect formation mechanism was evaluated by density functional theory, and the synthesis parameters, especially the effect of capping agent on the properties of perovskite quantum dots was investigated. Introducing a small amount of zwitterionic phosphatidylcholine in the reaction was found to be important for regulating the growth kinetics of CsSnX3 perovskite quantum dots, which otherwise merely leads to the formation of large-sized powders.
