项目摘要

１）高齢運転者の潜在的なリスク回避行動を性・年齢層・認知機能検査の結果ごとに検討するため、運転免許を更新する高齢運転者を対象にした質問紙調査を開始した。質問紙は月ごとに回収・入力しており、2023年8月まで継続する予定である。２）衝突被害軽減ブレーキ（AEB）の効果検証については、運転者と相手側受傷者の人身損傷程度がAEBの有無によってどれくらい異なるかデータ解析を行った。解析はほぼ終えているが、結果の解釈にはAEBの技術的な知識を要するため、自動車メーカーの技術者と意見交換する予定である。３）高齢運転者を対象にした免許更新時の認知機能検査の運用変更と事故との関連については、検討を進めた結果、運用変更後、運転者としての事故は男性において減っていたが、自転車や歩行者としての外傷は増えていた（交通弱者として事故に遭うリスクが高まっていた）ことがわかり、その旨を学術誌に報告した（J Am Geriatr Soc. 2023;71:1145-1155）。なお、高齢化が進むトラック運転者の飲酒運転対策について、その効果が検証されないまま、対策強化の動きがあったため、本研究で得た交通事故データをもとに効果を検証し、エビデンスに基づく政策の必要性を提言した（J Epidemiol 2022. オンラインで先行公開）。４）研究を進めるなかで、高齢運転者の併存疾患や服用薬を考慮した研究が可能であることがわかったため、当該分野を専門とする研究分担者を研究組織に追加し、関連データを入手し解析を開始した。また、アジア諸国の高齢運転者対策と事故の発生動向に関する現地調査も開始した。
