项目摘要

本研究では、日本と世界を繋ぐ文様デザインアーカイヴを創造し、アート&デザイン教育を推進する事を目的としている。シルクロードの終着点である日本が東西文化交流を礎に構築してきた芸術資源のデザインの源泉を明らかにし総合的に研究する事で、文様のロードマップをデザインするとともに、アーカイヴに集約する。初年度は、日本を中心とした文様調査に着手し諸研究機関での資料調査を行うとともに多摩美術大学が所蔵する古いアナログ資料のデジタル化を行ない、成果としては学術論文1本、文様映画3本を制作した。2022度は、デジタル化した資料のデータベース化・文様調査・文様アプリケーションを活用した作品制作・文様関連資料展示・資料収集・教育普及を推進し、学術論文・著書・作品の発表、文様アプリ作品制作などを実施した。文様調査は、日本国内では北海道のオホーツク文化と縄文およびアイヌ・日光東照宮（栃木県）・香取神宮（千葉県）の建築装飾文様、寺社建築装飾及び祭礼装飾（京都）、MIHO MUSEUMでの中央アジアに関する展覧会での装飾文様（滋賀）、東京国立博物館（東京）で開催された琉球展、沖縄本島・八重山諸島の建築装飾と祭礼（沖縄）における調査を実施した。海外では韓国ソウル市内の研究機関や近郊の文化施設で文様収集を実施した。文様アプリケーションでは、唐草文様を自動生成しヴァーチャルリアリティ空間で体験できるような作品のヴァージョン１を制作した。多摩美術大学美術館の企画展「テキスタイルの力」展ではテキスタイルの文様関連の解説に協力した。資料収集では、着物研究家が収集した着物関連資料の収集を行い、100余点の着物・帯・古裂の収集、壁紙会社が所有した壁紙見本帳１冊、龍村織物名物裂60点を収集した。教育普及として研究者らが大学で開講する授業において研究成果の一部を教材とし、文様装飾を実践するワークショップを展開し学術研究を教育の現場で活用した。
