The project will study (1) sociological diagnoses of the time between the First World War and the present and their emblematic social figures with regard to the tension between post-heroic orientations and heroic concepts of the subject. The plan is to conduct (2) a discourse-analytical reconstruction of contemporary diagnoses of post-heroism and their confrontation with interpretations of the present that point to new trends and expressions of the heroic.
