The aim of this project is to increase understanding of upper-ocean surface mixed layer processes and to incorporate these processes into global ocean models to make these models more consistent with regard to the upper-ocean energetics and the ocean-atmosphere energy exchange. The work will consist of observations, simulations, and the development and implementation of new parameterizations.
