本研究は、インドネシア・南スマトラのパセマ高原に所在する装飾古墳のアーカイブ化を基軸として、両立することが困難な先史壁画の保存と活用を推進する国際共同研究を実践的に展開する。昨年度までは世界的なパンデミックの影響が色濃く、海外調査が十分にできなかった。しかし、今年度は海外渡航自粛が部分的に緩和され、かつ国際情勢の見通しが不透明になる前に当初から計画していたフランス・ドルドーニュ渓谷に所在する洞窟壁画の公開活用について調査することを最優先に現地調査を実施した。加えて、フランス・トゥール在住の先史学者と共に日本考古学ワークショップを開催し、インドネシアで展開した先史壁画研究の地平を共有するとともに、学術交流も行うことができた。渡航先でPCR検査を受けねばならない等の制約はあったにしても、大きな支障なく調査を遂行することができた。フランス・ドルドーニュ渓谷には、ラスコー洞窟をはじめ彩色壁画を有する世界遺産が点在する。これらは、開口後、十分な保存体制が取られなかったため、環境変化や生物被害によって当時の美が失われてしまった。このため、洞窟壁画の保存と活用の問題にいち早く直面し、先進的な取組を行っている点で世界的に注目されている。特に本課題と関連した最重要な訪問先が、国際洞窟壁画センター（ラスコーⅣ）である。今年度はラスコーⅣでの先史壁画の活用実態の調査を基軸に今までインドネシアで進めてきた先史壁画研究の成果の一端を日本考古学ワークショップの中で紹介し、意見交換を行った。また、先史壁画と造形的に密接に関連する日本考古学の埴輪についても、渡航制限中からの調査を継続して行った。

This study aims to promote international joint research on the preservation and utilization of decorative ancient tombs located on the plateau. In the past, the plan was made to investigate the public use of cave murals where the valley is located. This is the highest priority for local investigation. In addition, the Japanese archaeologists and scholars in the past have jointly promoted the development of Japanese archaeology and the study of ancient frescoes in the past. The first step is to check the PCR and other restrictions. The color murals in the cave are a world heritage site. After the opening, the preservation system was changed, the environment was changed, and the biological damage was lost. The preservation and utilization of cave murals are the focus of the world's attention. In particular, this topic is related to the most important visit to the first, international cave murals This year, the basic axis of investigation on the utilization of ancient murals in Japan is to introduce and exchange views on the achievements of the study of ancient murals in Japan. The close connection between ancient murals and shapes is closely related to the investigation of Japanese archaeology.
