项目摘要

本研究の対象とするクルド系住民は、主にトルコ、イラク、イランの国境地帯に居住し、それぞれの国において少数派の立場におかれ、しばしば同化政策や差別の対象ともなってきた。こうした状況を踏まえ、従来のクルド・ナショナリズム研究では、抑圧する国家権力と抵抗する少数派クルド人との相克としてクルド・ナショナリズムの展開を理解しようとしてきた。しかし、本研究はこうした二項対立的な構図を排し、クルド人の間に前近代から見られた国境を越えた絆や連帯意識が、次第に現代的なナショナリズムへと変容しつつある過程を、人類学的手法によってより微細に検証することを目的とした。具体的事例として、有力神秘主義教団のシャイフの家系サーダーテ・ネフリー一族を取り上げ、彼らがクルディスタン各地でたどった多様な歴史的な経路を聞き取り調査や文字資料の分析を通じて検証することを目指した。その結果、それぞれの国で異なる社会的・政治的環境におかれたがゆえに、同一の家系に属するものであっても、クルド人意識やクルド・ナショナリズムについて異なる認識をいだくようになったことを実証的に明らかにすることができた。とくに、2022年度は、7月中旬から9月上旬にかけてイラクおよびトルコの国境地帯を訪れ、当該一族やその他の有力部族の間の国境を越えた宗教的・家族的な結びつきに関する聞き取り調査を実施した。くわえて、当該研究のこれまでの研究の成果の一端を“Beyond a centre-periphery approach: Inter-minority tensions and the development of contested categories of Kurdish mobilization in Iran”と題して学術雑誌に発表した。
