本研究は、日本、中国、台湾、朝鮮・韓国の近代化の過程における「健康観」の歴史的解明を目標とし、歴史資料の収集・検証とこれまでに利用してきた感染症関係資料の再検証をもとに、各地域を専門とする研究者が共同で歴史研究を実施する。今年度は、代表者・分担者・協力者による研究会を2度開催した。第1回（2022年7月）は、メンバー全員が研究の進捗状況を報告する会とした。内容は次の通りである。前田勇樹「明治期沖縄の衛生と水」、星野高徳「戦後沖縄県における寄生虫病対策の変遷」、戸部健「嗜好品と健康飲料のあいだ」、趙菁「養生書・衛生書における睡眠養生の変遷」、平体由美「「戦前の状態への復帰」と「近代公衆衛生の確立」との間」、福士由紀「移民と健康：満洲の食と栄養」、Bay Alexander「戦後の赤痢疫学と予防」、井上弘樹「村造りと寄生虫症：1940年代後半から1950年代初頭の滋賀県朽木村」、市川智生「戦後沖縄における乳児保育とメディア」。また、第2回（2023年1月）は、次の3名の報告会とした。Bay Alexander「戦前及び戦時中の国民保健調査：民間医療と国力」、Kim Youngsooo「1930－40年代植民地朝鮮における天然痘流行の統制と国民保健」、平体由美「アメリカ人看護アドバイザーと神奈川、高知、沖縄」。2回の研究会を通して、東アジアにおける「健康観」の変容について、地域および時代の差異を踏まえた議論を行うことができた。また、2022年11月にはYonsei Unviersity（韓国）のInstitute for History of Medicine主催の研究会"Modernity and Health in East Asia"に参加し、本科研から3名が報告を行った。食生活と健康・感染症、栄養問題の歴史などをテーマに韓国側の研究者との議論を行うことができた。

This study aims to clarify the history of health in the process of modernization in Japan, China, Taiwan, Korea and South Korea, and to collect and verify the history data. This year, the research meeting of representatives, contributors and collaborators was held twice. The first session (July 2022) was held to report on the progress of research by all staff. The research meeting will be held on the basis of the differences between the two regions and the times. In November 2022, Yonsei Unviersity (Korea) Institute for History of Medicine hosted the seminar "Modernity and Health in East Asia" and participated in the seminar.
