①貧困基準の設定では、最低限度の生活を担保した水準の貧困基準を導出し、これと生活保護基準や生活保護受給世帯の消費水準と比較すること、②金銭的貧困の測定では、所得だけではなく、消費・資産の状況からも貧困を測定すること、③非金銭的貧困の測定では、物質的剥奪指標を用いて貧困を検証すること、④2年間の生活保護の利用者動向の調査を通じて、生活保護の利用に至る理由、廃止に至る理由、生活や就労状況、過去の生活保護受給経験などのデータを取得することを予定していた。2022年度は、引き続き①から④それぞれのテーマに関するサーベイ、先行研究のレビューを行った。レビューした内容を用いた研究報告等を定期的に行った。あわせて、①と④の課題に関連して、厚生労働省「被保護者調査」の分析を進め、学会報告を行い、論文を執筆した。③厚生労働省「家庭の生活実態及び生活意識に関する調査」、国立社会保障・人口問題研究所「生活と支え合いに関する調査」のデータセットの整備を行い、分析を進めた。
