1.文献・資料の収集と、研究交流のために、フランスの政府機関および研究機関を訪問するとともに、前年度収集した文献・資料等を利用して、貧困・低所得に関する先行研究を調査設計・分析手法に重点をおきつつ検討した結果、次の点が明らかになった。ここ20年ほどの時期をみても、先進諸国では、貧困の概念・定義、貧困の出現率の推計、貧困層の生活実態と福祉ニーズなどに加えて、貧困の世代的再生産、アンダークラス論、貧困文化、貧困観・貧困認識、社会的排除、健康の不平等と貧困との関連、ジェンダー視点からの貧困分析、貧困とライフコースの関連の分析等、多様な観点からの研究が積み重ねられている。また、社会構成主義の観点にたった貧困および関連問題の分析も、貧困研究に対する重要な問題提起を含んでいる。近年の貧困研究は、政策構想・政策形成・政策評価との関連で行われることが多い。基本所得(Basic Income)等の貧困対策の新たな政策構想、ワークフェア等の貧困対策の効果測定に関する研究などが特に注目に値する。諸外国に比べて近年の日本での研究は活発といえないが、不安定階層論・生活構造論を初め、独自の特徴を持つ一定の研究の蓄積がある。こうした研究の枠組みを、現代的な状況に合わせて再構成して、研究を進めることも重要である。2.上記の文献研究に加えて、既存の調査データの2次的分析を行った。具体的には、研究代表者の研究グループが過去に実施した調査データ、および、データ・アーカイブを通して提供を受けた職歴調査のデータを用いて、低所得階層・不安定階層の形成過程についての探索的な分析を行った。

In addition to the above mentioned literature research, the analysis of existing investigation data was carried out twice. The specific purpose of this study is to provide research and analysis on the formation process of low income and unstable strata through the investigation of the past and the investigation of the past.
