项目摘要

本研究では９歳までの社会的認知及び関連要因の発達的変化とその個人差を追跡し、生じる臨床的問題との関連も含めて、社会的認知発達過程について縦断的かつ実証的に解明することを目的としている。２０２２年度は、とくに、コミュニケーションや学習などの場面において、他者からの情報を受け取る際に他者の特徴の理解がどのように影響を与えるのかに焦点を当てた検討をおこなった。先行研究においては、子どもが他者から情報を得る際にその他者が有能であることと優しいことのいずれの特徴が影響をより及ぼすのかが検討されてきたが、結果は矛盾していた。しかし、これらの特徴は相反するものではなく、人は日常生活の中でそれぞれの特性を状況に応じて活かしているため、子ども達は常にどちらかの特性を優先するのではなく、特定の状況に応じて注目する特性を調整する可能性が考えられる。そこで今回、有能さまたは優しさのいずれかを必要とするさまざまな状況を設定し、それぞれの状況でどのような特徴の他者に注目するのかについて検討をおこなった。その結果、子ども達は、能力が必要な状況では優しい人より有能な人を選び、優しさが必要な状況ではその逆の傾向があることが示された。この結果は、子ども達が状況に応じて情報提供者のさまざまな特性に注目する可能性があることを示している。一方、子ども達は有能な人よりも優しい人を好んだが、これは向社会性の好みに関連している可能性が考えられる。こうした個別の要因に関する検討に加え、これまで実施してきた研究をもとに、縦断研究だからこそ明らかにできた点に焦点を当てた知見もまとめた。これらの知見は論文で公表した。
